Get To Know

“Every dude with a mix-tape wants the same thing: money, cards, and a variety of girls at their beck and call. Me, I don’t care about that stuff. I just have a story to tella story about love, change, and honesty.”

Ian “Creo” Walters is a 22 year-old Toronto native, with a passion for writing music and performing. Creo doesn’t quite recall the first moment he realized his love for lyrics, but distinctly remembers his little interest in applying to post-secondary schools in his senior year of high school. It was after performing at a local town show when he knew that there was something that felt right about being on stage, and from that moment on, he began to pursue his passion for words. Creo has now opened for various artists, including Manafest, as well as played shows in Toronto, Hamilton, Ottawa, and Quebec, with crowds upwards of 1000 people. His music style is said to be similar and influenced greatly to that of J. Cole and Childish Gambino, but with his own distinctive twist. Creo released his first EP, Big Dreams, on April 29th, 2014. After facing several challenges and bumps along the way, it’s safe to say Creo has learned and progressed an undeniable amount. He is currently working on his next untitled EP. He is excited to dip his feet into brand new water, venturing out with new producers as well as a new sound. When Creo isn’t rapping, he can be found performing spoken word, as he is a multiple time youth slam festival champion, as well as a Toronto National team qualifier.

“I want to inspire people with a story they can relate to, and if they can’t, I hope something in my music can spark some emotion; whether I shock them, make them cry, or offend them, my music needs genuine honest and emotion, and I am the catalyst.”
